Donation FAQ's
How are donations to Wisdom In Nature used?
All donations, no matter how large or small are really appreciated. We use the money for a range of activites, primarily:
Web-based platforms: website etc..
Printing & Stationary (this seems to be reduced in recent times!)
Travel costs (e.g. collaborative initiatives, planning meetings)
Subsidised Trainings and Events especially for less economically privileged individuals and groups
Offering of expertise and time (though much of our day-to-day work is currently fuelled by the passion of our voluntary efforts - this may not be sustainable in the long run).
We are also in need of funds to invest in a more resilient support structure e.g. hiring external specialist support, that will gently help take us to the next level, enable us to strengthen our network and for our work to grow and benefit more people.
The more money we have coming in from those able to donate, the more our work is available to those on less income and the more everyone is enriched through the diversity of participants.
How much should I give?
The answer is simple! Please give whatever amount you are easily able to give. No amount is too small, and larger amounts are also used mindfully.
We are a small organisation and work consciously to inspire transformative change - it is this approach that led us to pioneering activities including delivering the world’s first course on Islam and Permaculture.
All donations given to us are thus used to good effect in supporting our communities to transition to a regenerative, resilient future.
Is it better to give a one-off donation or a monthly standing order?
A regular amount helps us with longer term planning. If we know we have £X coming in each month, we can strategise and plan courses with greater clarity, and offer subsidised fees to less privileged individuals on a more ongoing basis. (As a regular donor you will also benefit with a discount on select WiN events and other offerings).
Single donations are also helpful, as they contribute to our overall funds, and there is always the possibility that we can make use of the money in a spontaneous way. They can also support a specific fund-raising initiative we have in mind, helping us build momentum.
Thus, either is great! We appreciate all support, and want people to be able to give in a way that they comfortable with. Our role is to do the best we can with the kindness of support that has come to us.
